Beyond Boots and Bullets: A Life Forged in Experience

The events of life have been a great teacher to me. I have never been an intellectual type but rather see myself as having been cut from that practical lump of granite called ‘the experiences of life’. Near-death situations have taught me the preciousness of life, while helping the needy in other lands has taught me the joy of serving others. A wise man named Jim Elliot once said, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
