Set in the vibrant 1960s, Koro’s Star is a heart-warming and exciting adventure story.

It’s the beginning of summer in 1967 when 10-year-old Atama moves with his family to a new army base. His father, Atama’s hero, departs for Vietnam, entrusting Atama to care for his mum and younger sister, Maia, during his absence.

Anxious about making friends at the new camp, Atama discovers a special surprise from his dad: Koro’s 1939–1945 star medal, a family heirloom passed down after his grandfather’s death in World War II.

Atama finds new friends but faces an ‘initiation’ to join their club. Wearing Koro’s medal for courage, he is unprepared for the mysteries that await him deep in the tunnels beneath the army base.
