The stars of Matariki were observed individually and as a group, and predictions were made about the upcoming year based on how they appeared in the sky. This unique design was created by New Zealand Māori illustrator Isobel Te Aho-White. Isobel expresses herself and her heritage through a variety of artistis mediums both digital and traditional. She is a descendant of Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Kahungungu ki te Wairoa.
